DX Racer Buying Guide

One of the most well known names in gaming chairs, DX Racer actually started out as a manufacturer of seats for luxury sports cars in 2001.  In 2006, they shifted gears to the first brand of the modern day gaming chair and headed towards the world of gaming and eSports.  The years of innovation and experience in the auto industry helped them transition into making the best, most comfortable gaming chairs on the market today.  They bring a wide product range with many different styles and builds from office chairs to gaming chairs.

DXRacer has created a wide portfolio of product models that can be chosen according to body type, the style of your office, the color of your desk, the style of your decorations, your personal preference, and the nature of your job. This is an awesome thing, since we don’t live in a one size fits all world.  However, due to the wide range of products and styles, it can be daunting trying to pick out the right chair for you.  Since these are racing style chairs, they are more form fitting than your standard office chair.  The chair will almost “hug” you as you sit in it.  These chairs are not exactly cheap, so you want to make sure that you get one that will fit you and your style.  I did a lot of research before buying mine and I am glad that I did.  Had I just bought the cheaper, entry level chair, I would have had issues because I am 6’2″ and 205lbs.

All DXRacer chairs feature a full-sized metal frame and star pattern, footrest-shaped bases that can support up to a ton in weight. They feature an imported hydraulic unit from Germany that passes stringent SGS and exceeds International standards. All the accessories undergo a vigorous quality test, and must pass 72 strict quality tests.

Formula Series

The DXRacer Formula Series is designed with comfort in mind, featuring soft cushioning and a soft surface material. The height and angle can be adjusted to one’s desired settings easily, with the angle topping out at 170 degrees. This is the entry level chair and made for people with a Slim/Average body type.  This chair is not recommended for people over 5’10” or 200 lbs max as you will be too tall for the headrest or too wide for the body.

Racing Series

This model is a larger version of the above Formula Series (F-Series) chair. With a taller, wider, backrest, the Racing Series complements a slightly bigger-built user and is the chair that I’m currently sitting in. It is recommended for people who are 5’8″ – 6’2″ and up to 220lbs.  This version also comes with a small pillow that can be strapped to the holes in the neck area or slid over the top of the chair for higher resting spot.  It is great for laying back and watching videos on Twice or YouTube. It also comes with a removable lumbar cushion that can be moved up or down the back of the chair to give you support right where you need it.

King Series

The King Series is a newly designed seat with adjustable armrests, which are padded for extra comfort. The King Series is DXRacer’s widest model of chair, and offers a sleek ergonomic design for maximum comfort. This chair is designed to stay comfortable for long sessions, including those that are 8 hours or longer.  This chair is still only recommended for people no taller than 6’2″, but the recommended weight goes all the way up to 275lbs with a maximum capacity of 300lbs.  Like the Racing series, it also comes with free cushions.

Sentinel Series

The Sentinel Series can be considered the big brother of the King Series.  It sports a similar design, but this bad boy is designed for the big and tall gamer.  If you are upwards of 6’6″ and/or 350 lbs, then this is the chair to have your eye on.

Tank Series

The Granddaddy of the Gaming chairs. The largest seat in Dxracers history! Extra wide sitting space! Comes with two gas cylinders, you can change any time!  MEET THE TANK SERIES! This chair is for the large gamer who is up to 6’7″ and/or 450 lbs.

It is worth noting that these larger chairs are still usable by smaller people and may be a good choice for people who like a roomier fit or for those of you that enjoy sitting with your legs crossed or feet up on a chair. How you sit in a chair figures just as much into what your height and weight are.
