Expanded Events and More for Overwatch in 2018

Blizzard released a new developer update today in which lead designer Jeff Kaplan touched on some additions that we will be seeing in 2018.

So what do we have to look forward to over the next 12 months? First off, Kaplan says that we will be getting Overwatch League skins very soon to coincide with the start of the pro league that kicks off later this month.  He also mentions that Chinese New Year, Uprising, and Anniversary events will be expanded to include even more content. Players will also get to hunt down new items from the regular loot boxes when special events aren’t happening.

Kaplan also promises that we will get to enjoy new maps, including Blizzard World, which was teased at Blizzcon 2017.  Blizzard is also working on a new hero.  It will be the 27th hero in the game, but as of right now we do not know who it is, or what role they will play.
